RUSTY LEAGUE
a place to live your fantasy

Season 7 Rules Book

1. This is a play-by-email football simulation league. Managers create lineups for their matches at home. These lineups are sent to the league commissioner who runs them against their scheduled opponents. The match results are then posted on the website.

2. Once you join the Rusty League, you will be provided a unique 'Club Code'. With this code along with your club abbreviation, you can login into the Club House in the website. After that you can gain access to many features like Online TeamSheet Creator™, Transfer Market, Auction House, Blog and Personal Messaging System.

3. In Season 7 , Rusty League will have only one division of ten teams.

4. The regular season will involve the teams playing the other teams in their division twice (once at home and once away).  The club with the maximum points at the end of the season is declared the winner. The fixture schedule will be published at the beginning of the season.

5. In Season 7 , 1  round of league matches are played each week on Saturday during the regular season. So all the managers must submit their lineups for their matches scheduled for that week by Saturday, 3 PM (15 hours) GMT of that week. Failure to submit their lineups strictly within the deadline will be taken as an abuse and an automatically created lineup for your team will be used to run the matches.

6. Besides the league, a regular season also includes two cup competitions: Stainless Steel Cup and Pre-Season Cup

7. In Season 7 , all the cup matches will be played on Wednesday of certain weeks only. Check out the schedules for the Cup matches.Concerned managers must submit their lineup by 3 PM (15 hours) GMT of Wednesday on scheduled weeks. Failure to submit their lineups strictly within the deadline will be taken as an abuse and an automatically created lineup for your team will be used to run the matches.

The main expenses of a club are:

10. Ticket Revenue is the main source of income for the clubs in Rusty League. The ticket revenue for a match is determined by the attendance for the match and the ticket price . For league matches, the home team gets 60% of the total ticket revenue while the away team gets 40% of the revenue. For Cup games at neutral venues, the two teams divide the ticket revenue equally.

11.Managers can earn extra money by participating in the BLOG and also by contributing press releases/articles to the League e-magazine named ONSIDE. Depending on the participation on the Blog & ONSIDE, a team can earn from up to 35 K per week.

12. Each week the club needs to pay certain wage to all its players.

13. Clubs will also need to pay maintenance cost for their stadium every season. The maintenance cost of a stadium is: 1 $ per seat per week . So with a 15,000 capacity stadium, the maintenance cost is 15,000 (15 k) every week of the season.

14. Clubs need to buy CPs in between seasons. Since CPs cannot be bought once the season starts (except from Auctions and trades), healthy budgeting and planning ahead helps to acquire the right number of CPs and set you on your way of developing your team the way you want.

The costs are described in the following table:

16. The players' age will increase by 1 at the end of a season accompanied by a corresponding loss of skill level.

17. Acquiring New Players:
There are a number of methods you may use to acquire new players. The following section discusses these.

Pre-Season Draft
Each club gets to draft 3 new age 1 players into their team for free at the beginning of a season.

Auction
Players can also be acquired in Auctions which are run periodically.

Youth Points & Apprentices
With each team-sheet managers submit on time, they collect 1 Youth Point (YP). For every 6 YPs, they can create a player at any time during the season to fill their squad, develop or to sell to another club.
Youth Points are tradable between the clubs like any players/CPs. However unlike other resources, YPs can be traded even during closed trade window.

Transfers and Trading
Players may buy, sell, or trade anything (a player /CP/ YP). If you have players to trade, your best means of advertising them is to post them in the various communication tools within the website (like Blog, Shout Box, Personal Message etc) Or ‘Transfer Market' link on web site. Transfer Windows are opened only during certain periods of the season where the actual trading of resources occurs.

Player Loan
Players can be loaned between clubs depending upon agreement between the concerned managers. In any one season, a club can only have 3 loan players. Similarly, a club can only loan out 3 players in a season. If a club does loan players, they will be responsible for their wages for the period of their loan. The minimum loan period is 4 weeks and the maximum is 18 weeks.

18. Players acquired from Auction will carry no-trade-ban for 4 matches.

19. The managers of past league champions who are no more in the league will be added as referees in the game.

20. Awards

Division I winner 200 k
Division I runners up 150 k
Division I third 100 k
All individual awards (Rusty Ball, Rusty Boot, Rusty Gloves) 500 ability points

21. We will not replay ANY single matches for any reason, PERIOD!  If a mistake is made where a simple TP/CP or monetary adjustment is required, those can easily be fixed, just point them out via email (do it nicely).   If a mistake is made that affects your lineup, the match will not be replayed.  The result will stand, but hopefully the reason for the mistake can be identified to prevent it from reoccurring.  The software will do weird things sometimes too, but it does not play favorites.

22. Lastly this is more of a "social" game. The Commissioner and other older managers are more than willing to help you clear any other confusion you may have. So please feel free to contact them in case you need to.
